NESTLE Coffee Mix + Culinary – DUBAI

In 2015 Nestlé built a factory for the production of coffee and culinary products in Dubai for 120 million dollars (111.5 million francs). The new building covers 7.8 hectares and houses a staff of about 400. This project is designed to meet the growing demand in the Middle East. As Nestlé possesses other production units (notably for

The Dubai factory is a multi-product facility. The ALPS Automation teams worked both on the Coffee Mix (Nescafé 3 in 1) part and the Culinary part (Maggi bouillons and soups). The Coffee Mix process consists in mixing the freeze-dried coffee with sugar and/or cream in function of different recipes, before being packaged in sticks, cartons and pallets.

For the Culinary part there is a system for managing recipes that is fully automated and controls the raw materials (oils, fats, chicken grease etc.). These raw materials are weighed, measured then mixed before being packed in packages of different types.

For these two parts of the factory, ALPS Automation provided a whole range of services: project management, electrical diagramming, production and delivery of command control and power cabinets, programming of the automatons and HMIs, reporting, and finally the commissioning including the I/O tests. At the busiest stage of the project ALPS Automation had 5 expert staff permanently on site.
